Welcome to Charlotte Youth Center!
Incorporated in 2005 as a Non-Profit organization for youth; Charlotte Youth Center, Inc. supports At-Risk youth, ages 14-19, in Charlotte, NC and surrounding communities. Charlotte Youth Center is a non-profit volunteer directed organization committed to transforming the chaotic lives of Charlotte’s young people through constant and selfless support. One of the goals of Charlotte Youth Center is continued commitment to helping our youth transform their current academic situation to a positive destination of higher academic achievement. Some of our youth has maladaptive backgrounds that include: low grade point averages, truancy, gang involvement, violence (physical & verbal), and risky sexual activity. All students have the potential to be successful. We are passionate about what we do and strive to always keep what’s best for each individual student in mind.
About Us
Charlotte Youth Center was created and developed to provide at-risk students with low grade point averages, the opportunity to get tutoring, scholastic aptitude testing support & academic competency testing preparation, college preparation, mentoring, crisis intervention as well as a variety of workshops including employment & GED preparation and teen health resources.
The structure of our learning environment for these students is more hands-on with real life scenarios. The Underlying philosophy of Charlotte Youth Center is, “give a man a fish and you’ll feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you’ll feed him for a lifetime”. The staff of Charlotte Youth Center, Inc not only wants to teach them to fish; we want to show them how to grow into their destiny.
We are proud of the work we do and it is our every intention to give our at-risk students as much assistance necessary to ensure their high school/post high school success. Charlotte Youth Center Staff will model and reinforce positive behavior as well as lifelong values such as: the value of education, commitment, teamwork, and work ethic; reinforcing respect for self and others.
